While Jesus is saving, I'm spending all my days...

I'm terribly sorry, I couldn't help it.  But isn't she the most adorable creature you've ever seen?

St. Vincent, otherwise known as Annie Clark, played fo' free tonight at the Museum of Fine Arts.  I gave her a rose that I picked from the park down the street.  People were mildly if not blatantly annoyed that I was snapping away pictures, probably obstructing their view from time to time, but hey.  I'm in the process of learning.  I can do whatever the hell I want.

There was also an exhibit (imagine, exhibits at an art gallery) of Yousef Karsh's portrait photography.  I could have easily spent 5+ hours in there scrutinizing every photograph because they were stunning.  Perfectly lit streams of smoke coming out of Humphrey Bogart's cigarette and the tiniest wisps of hair on Fidel Castro's face (who was, hilariously, put right next to Eisenhower.  I wish I could've been the museum intern to do that) added to a portrait of Georgia O'keefe amidst her crazy cattle skeletons and you've got one hell of a portfolio.

I want to learn how to make gelatin silver prints.

Though this is not on topic, I want to comment on the excessive use of the "guy vacuuming" photograph as a primer for tonight's presidential debate. Somehow "guy vacuuming" has become the symbol of anticipation, of perhaps blue collar agitation, in preparing the stage for these two men, more so McCain, who can not commit to an hour and a half debate.

But the St. V pics are also pretty.

"guy vacuuming with vivid colours of red, white, and blue with the american flag in the foreground" is one of those photos that journalists look for ravenously when they don't have anything else interesting to shoot.

and i think he officially said he's showing up tonight.

here's a drinking game for you:

take a shot when obama says "hope" or "change"
take a shot when mccain says "country first"
